i bought the trainer about one year ago, unfortunately my calorie counter broke after the first week, but i recieved a video to work on, but when i see the weight loss or muscle control on the tv, they never tell me how much work i should do per week, so to me its useless, but the cost of returning is much more than its worth,

i bought the trainer about 2 yrs ago now, i wanted to lost 2 stone as fast as possible. i seen the trianer on the T.V and thought it looked really great. i used it monday to friday every evening for only 10-15 mins a day. i was on a diet aswell but in just a few weeks i lost 1 stone!. i couldn’t believe it. every body that i hadn’t seen in a few months commented sooo much. i was so glad that i bought the trainer- i have kepted all the wieght off and i am now goin to start using it again so i can be come more heaalthy. i would personily rate the trainer 8/10!!.

I bought my LTT from uksportimports.co.uk and it did not come with the workout dvd but a good price at £38.99 inclusive of p&p. Just ordered the workout dvd from mochea.com at only £4.95 inclusive of p&p. Still a bargain compared to the cost of the ones advertised on tv.

(26) LTTUSER says:

Hello. I purchased the LTT a couple of days ago and have set up a journal where I will update with my experience. So far I’ve used it 6 times in two days, first day for about a half hour in total, today for 45mins. I’m really feeling it and I think it’s a good machine, very sturdy and feels well built. I’ve noticed it start to make some noises when I first use it but it soon goes as I get into the routine. Please check http://lttuseruk.livejournal.com/ if you want to follow my progress, alternativly go to livejournal and search for lttuseruk

(27) Jennifer C says:

I have had the LTT for a few years and it is the BEST at home workout equipment I have found. I use it almost every day (45mins-1hr) and my hips and thighs are toned and strong. It is a great fat burning cardio workout and is so simple to use. The fact that is makes very little noise, combined with its compact size make it user friendly. Love It!

(34) Joanne says:

hey just recieved my trainer and dvd and arm thingys, it was a bit tricky to assemble that was a warm up on its own. I use to do ballet and had awsome legs but now i’ve stopped they’ve gone but i tried it out and i could feel it working my thighs but not sure about my stomach. By the way i noticed they sellin the dvd and arm thingys on ebay. There is not much on the dvd. I would say just put some music on and have fun. Just do some arm work as you would do with any work out. Even get cans or weights to increase the work out.

Hi there

My LTT arrived last week. My first session took about 30 minutes (25 of those minutes spent trying not to fall of it!!!)

Perseverence does pay off – I’m not sure that I’ve lost any weight or inches yet but I can feel muscles that I didn’t know I had… so that must be a good thing (including my stomach!)

I’ll report back in a couple of weeks…

(42) Jingle sheep says:

Hi – I bought a LTT from ebay in the new year. I thought everyone would go mad for one in the new year get fit rush – BUT I only paid £26 for mine – I was the only bidder at 99p and £25 p&p. I know the p&p seems steep but at 99p i’m not complaining. CAme with power cords and dvd. I agree it does squeak a little – get the WD – 40 out. The peddles were ‘stuck’ to start with, just give it a good stomp with your foot and it will work. Great fun – have lost 6lbs this week and only hop on when the kettle is boiling !! Good Luck!!

(43) Wendy wanting workout! says:

I have just bought an LTT from a friend who bought it and stuck it in the loft when she fell pregnant soon after! No instructions or work-out plan – can anyone help. The steps seem to step down rather hard, making a thumping sound, is this right or should there be some sort of cushioning? Any help would be great. First time on tonight nearly wrecked my knees. I’m going to persevere though!

Loving it!

I have used the LTT for over 2 years – 30 min/day 5/wk. I absolutely love it. It has really helped me get toned and stay in shape. Unfortunately I keep breaking mine and have gone trough two of them and will buy a third one soon. Video’s and LTT are available on ebay for much cheaper than other places.

(48) Char says:

I’ve had two or three LTTs…it’s been a long while. I’m actually in the market for another one! I loved the machine, but not long after regular usage, it started squeaking really horribly, and then I noticed little blackish “shavings” on my carpet one day. I realized the scraping from the back and forth movement somewhere underneath the machine was causing the metal to fall apart! Finally, the squeaking got so bad that it drove me crazy, and I got rid of it. There is still a black stain in my carpet from the metal shavings. On a positive note, I did lose weight and get toned, though, and the answer to the belly/abs question is yes, it does work on that part of your body, simply because of the constant twisting motion you’re doing when moving from side to side. If you exaggerate the twisting a bit and really get your arms into it as well, you’ll feel it even more. You’re not gonna get a six-pack, but the fat will fall away. After awhile, it is a little rough on the knees, so I don’t suggest overdoing it on a daily basis. So after all that, why do I want another one, you ask? BECAUSE IT WORKS, and there’s nothing better than exercising in front of the TV, breaking a profuse sweat, then being able to jump in your own shower afterward and not have to battle for a spot at the gym! Plus, I’ve never found anything I like more, and that’s small enough to fit in my teeny living room. Happy LTT-ing everyone!

This machine has really worked for me (I lost about 25 punds), however I’ve bought four of them because the machine’s chain breaks after a few months! I have tried to keep the chain lubricated, but it doesn’t work. And it’s not like I’m heavy (now only 130!)!

(53) Jay says:

I bought my LTT about 3 months ago. At first it was great, I used it everyday for 2 weeks – I lost inches and felt good. I slept better and I stopped craving as much sugar. My goal was to just get rid of the extra holiday bulges!I only wanted it to drop a dress size, nothing more. But it soon became very boring but still I perservered. After a while it just didn’t do anything for me. I lost interest in it in a while but am trying it again because I paid 89 pounds for it (what a waste of money!)I am very dissappointed with the LTT. The ad is great, makes you want the product but you will never look like that women in the ad if you use this machine alone. Any exercise will probably get you seeing results in the beginning. After a while the LTT didn’t seem to be doing anything for me and I didn’t lose as much as I wanted to. I did eat heathily but after a while the monotony coupled with not seeing results just made me want to join a gym. Its better in a gym anyway – it seems really expensive but at least there you get what you need to look the way you want. So its thumbs down for buying the LTT – use it in the gym with all the other equipment and maybe you will see the results so misleadingly portrayed in the ad…that wide mouth smiling lady goes to the gym, the LTT alone didn’t get her looking that way!

(55) Kelsey says:

I bought LTT two years ago, and I love it. I haven’t used it for a while until recently. Usually I just run on a treadmill, which barely ever even makes me break a sweat while I’m running on it. But then yesterday I decided to use the LTT, and I literally got drenched in my own sweat after being on it for just a few minutes. I had eaten tons of junk food earlier that day, but, amazingly, the next day I noticed that my stomach was much flatter and my legs were slightly slimmer. That may have been partly because I did crunches too yesterday, but I know that the LTT helped a lot. I also ate some junkfood today too, which I regret. It made me feel really crappy while I was eating it. I hope I won’t do that again for a while. Fortunately, I didn’t pig out too much on it, so hopefully that won’t cancel out the benefits I could get when I use the LTT today.

You just have to use it for at least 15mins straight non-stop for at least 5days a week. Good luck to all. BE POSITIVE!!

I’ve had the LTT for a couple of years now, but have never really used it regularly. Does anyone know if the LTT actually slims the inner thighs? One would think so, since it’s a “thigh trainer”.

April 22, 2007 at 8:48 pm
(73) Girl X says:

Hey All!

I’ve found that the LTT actually does tone the stomach muscles! It does so by causing the midsection to slightly “twist” from side to side with each stepping motion. By isolating the stomach muscles and frequently twisting them from left to right, the LTT has actually caused my stomach to flatten and tighten for the first time in my life, and I have always struggled with my weight! Great machine! I started noticing subtle results within a week. My advice is stick with it; don’t get discouraged if you don’t see results right away…everyone is built differently and will see results at different speeds. However, after about a month, I noticed a much slimmer and “tighter” physique…this was without diet alteration! Good Luck!

(76) Sandra says:

Hi, I honestly think it any machine realy works if we use it. The LTT does not go around that rule, so, its a great machine for those who are interested in loosing the spare tyres and use the machine at least 15 minutes a day, four to five times a week.

Received the lateral thigh trainer last week, and after a few mishaps finally managed to work it out. So far I have been using it for 3 days for 20 mins. Was slightly concerned as I only feel it on my calfs, and was unsure about the stomach, but I am going to perserve with it and my diet, have measured my thighs and waist, so will leave a month and see if their is any difference, hope so.

Hi All LTT fans,

Like everybody else, I got hhooked by the LTT advert and I’m really tempted. However, before buying it, I searched for reviews and one thing which did worry me is that a lot of people have been complaining about squeaky noises and broken chains. As I’m not really interested in buying several LTT each time the chain breaks , I was wondering if there was a way to fix the broken chain, other than buying a new one (as it seems the solution for some). Thanks a lot for your help and

(90) Stu says:

The LLT is a well constructed machine however it does suffer from some serious design errors: Firstly is the lurication of the friction bearings or should I say lack of. Thats the squeeky squeely noise you hear when your burning the cals. The secret is to take off the foot suports and oil from the top of the L Support {shortest part of the L} this eliminates the horrible squeeking. Or if you are a genius like me take it apart and use stanard autmotive axle grease. If not its only a matter of time before it breakes regards Stu

HEY PEEPS!!! i just ordered my LTT this morninig and i swear to god the excitement is taking over! cant wait for it to get here! iv recently joined a gym and im seeing amazing results and seein exercise as fun and a great hobby, but i’m only able to go like 3 times a week, and really now the only area i need to target is the vast amount of flubber on the bum!also, brenda dycraf wasn really a turn off either!! ;) and i really hope that it works even if not immediately!Mike id recommend not using machines till ur 16, and just go for nice quiet jogs before you go to bed, you wouldnt believe the results!! if u start too early ul wreck your knees! Tyrone how did u get a girl if ur fat?? im sure ur not btw, but maybe for the summer make it ur goal to loose the sagglebags and come back to skl in 6 weeks havin everyone breakin their jaws from droppin them all ovr the floor brotha!!

OH nd Cassie i live in ireland too and http://www.tvshopping24.com have them for 70 euro and dilever to ireland!! thats where i got mine cant actually wait!!

Ill post my results soon when it arrives!

(92) GMV says:

I bought myself the LTT early January, for about the same price as the less sophisticated mini twisting Carl Lewis stepper I got my mother for Christmas – it’s a great way to exercise and add some variety to your workout. Mine developed a squeak on the left after a couple of months and then the right pedal started squeaking as well just over the weekend.

I took Stu’s advice, posted on 2nd June, and that did the trick. Oiling from the top of the L Support with WD-40 did get rid of that irritating squeak.

It’s still a great little machine.

Been using mine for 2 weeks now. I do 15mins one night and 30 mins the next then have a night off. Lost two n half pounds, my thighs gone from 32″ to 31″ and hips 38″ to 37″. My stomach definately feels tighter. I feel more energetic than ever before. So works for me

I have just purchased a Bally mini twist stepper that is similar to the LTT. It is for sure a good aerobic workout, if you can manage to do it for some time, I am working to 30 min a day, but for now, I am only doing 100 steps at a time frequently throught the day. As for the arm bands, I find them totally useless and just use weights and swing them.

When I used the lateral thigh trainer my legs stomatch and thighs became very thick and mussly, toned, I am not sure if I should keep using it. I also drank two regular sized water bottles a day I am not sure if it is from the LTT or my legs became like that from water. It would be nice if some1 can email me back and let me know wat is going on so I will know the situation better and prevent myself from using certain things P.S. (99) Sandi says:

Hi all,

I have had my LTT for a couple of years now, and I can tell you this: it does work! I use it regularly. It tones your stomach by the simple fact that you must hold your abs in to stay on it and that you’re twisting a little while you step. The tighter you hold your abs, the harder they work, so hold ‘em tight! Plus, just burning more calories by working out will also make your tummy smaller. If you find it breaks, which they are quite prone to doing, take it to a bicycle repair shop. My friend and I each did that with ours and they fixed it for under $10 each. It’s just like a bike chain, so it’s easy for them to figure out. I’m sure they could even replace the chain, if needed. I can’t say enough good things about the LTT. I’ve seen so many of you asking about a manual. I never even opened the manual. I just got on and started walking! If you need motivation, make a really peppy CD for yourself of your favorite music and just get moving! I put it on the highest level, which is the hardest, because I get the best workout. It takes a minute to become easier to move the steps at that level, but you get into it quickly and soon don’t even notice. Just go slowly and work your way into a really good 45-1 hour routine. I always make sure I do at least 2,000 steps at a time. That’s just my thing. If you get tired, back off the intensity, but DON’T get off! Just slow down once in awhile. I do that with every workout. I go at a high intensity for awhile, then back off and rest, but never stop. I keep water right next to me and drink at least 30 ounces while I’m working out. I hope this helps others!

My LTT arrived today and I used it this evening. WOW – I’m knackered!! Seems to work although there is already a squeak – will get some WD40 if it gets worse. I have read all the comments about the pedals being stuck and in my book it says that could be from overuse and you must put the resistance lever in the fast position and then hold onto the doorframe and use one foot to tap hard on the higher pedal to unlock the internal reisistance disc. – Hope that helps.

I have owned the ab lounger for about 3 months. I bought so my husband and I could add it to our workout routine. After just three months it squeaks like crazy. I bought more expensive one too, and WD 40 makes it worse. Since the rubbing components are plastics it looks like they are turning into powder as you use the machine. The machine works the abs, but what good is it if drives you nuts as you use it.

Hello everyone,

I just had a baby girl 6 weeks ago by C section. The DR says I’m healed and can do exercise. I’ve been watching the informercial, since I was pregnant. I’m very interested in buying it, but the website says it has been discontinued. I see it on ebay and decided that’s where I’ll get it. I want it to tighten and lift my butt and tighten my lower abs, but I will use the 6 second abs workout along with it. My diet will be based on ABS DIET; great book by the way. I want to give it a try. I’m hoping not to run into any problems. I’m 5 feet flat and now 128 pounds. I hope it works great for me, but my problem is I get bored quickly. I guess I’ll just get some great uptempo music. I write back when I get it and again when I have used it for a month. Lata.

I got my LTT about two months ago. I wanted an alternative to the gym as it was becoming a waste of money (only going once a week was a joke!!!)I had tried the normal steppers but I was far from impressed. So I bought the machine on ebay (dirt cheap!) free weights and a gymball in Argos, and I had my own personal gym at home!!! The good thing is that you can use it when you want, and you can watch tv at the same time or have a conversation on the phone with a friend. Best? Use it watching a programme with “gogeous” people, you’ll find all the reasons in the world to step faster. You can work your cardio to some extene, it’s good for the thighs and bum, I am not too sure about the abs. Nothing beats a good series a situps I suppose. (you can find some good videos on youtube. Although the DVD can be a tad annoying sometimes as Brenda is Miss Happy-it’s-great!!!, I still like using it when I am bored of watching the gorgeous people. Do you know if she has made another one? I would not mind a change in the routine.
My machine was starting to make some kind of tapping noise, but nothing that the WD40 could not get rid of.
Good Luck to you all.

(140) Fatty says:

Hi again,

I managed to fix the ‘locked’ pedals! The company I bought it from (tvdeals.tv) replied my email yesterday. So all I had to do was putting the speed level to fast (at first move it between fast and slow for a few times) and then standing with both feet on one pedal while holding on to the wall. Then put as much weight as possible on it. Then it just slowly moved. I was so happy. At first I thought I was being fooled by the company as the product was no longer available on their web. But now it works perfect and I got it only for £27.95 with free delivery. Now it just takes will power. Can’t tell yet whether it will help lose weight or not. I did 20 mins last night and I sweated a lot!!!

The machine was set at the lowest, has this happend to anyone else out there. Thing is i want to start using it again as i am gaining weight, but dont want to build muscle. Caroline. The reason you are building muscles is becauses you set the machine at the lowest, which is for tonning. You should try to set it at the highest for burning fat. It is the way I understood the instructions. I just bough the LTT and worry to built muscles as well.

Hello fellow LTT users.
I bought mine two years ago, I used it for 40 mins a day for a month and lost a whopping great two stone!
Then after a while I gave up, now I put that weight back on, so starting from yesterday I’ll be using it for as long as I can everyday of the week, and dieting of course.
What I find helps is placing my laptop infront of me and having a slideshow of thin and sexy celebrities, this is great motivation, also drink lots and lots of water.
Another thing which really helps me is putting on a CD of banging choons with a defined beat you can step to.

Hope this will help you guyss.
Good Look, hope everyone gets the results they want!

When I use it along with stretching exercises I find that it is more effective. It really wacks the jelly out of the legs and raises the butt up too. Of course this is helpful because the older you get it seems like gravity pulls everything down.

After several weeks of consistent usage once daily- my legs were rock solid. When you slack off though, so does the muscle tissue you worked so hard to build.

You can use the Lateral Thigh Trainer sitting down too. It’s very hard to use on the highest level but works decently on the lowest level. I can’t say whether you get the same benefit as doing it standing up but at least you don’t have to worry about your balance.

Hey there,
I read through the comments because Im thinking about buying a LTT but Im still not sure if it’s worth the money. I’d really love to loose some weight and to get a little bit fitter etc.

What’s really keeping me to buy it are the complaints about the noises and I also read some comments on other websites where it’s said that the LTT broke after a couple of weeks …
So, what would you say? Yes or no? Effective or not?
thanks for your answers :)

I bought one a few years back and am now recommitted to workout using Power 90x. I went to GNC and had an interesting conversation with a sales representative who was ripped or had visible muscle definition…. he suggested to do the lateral trainer for 20 minutes then do the Power 90 x videos then end with another 20 minutes. So far so good and I feel I sweat more and have greater ability to lift heavier weight. God speed. Z

Lateral thigh trainers a great means of home exercise. They can really build up a sweat especially the ones that come with tension cords so you can do a full body workout. They great if you not very motivated to do a lot of exercise because a couple of minutes a day will be enough to get your fitness levels up.

I have this piece of equipment and I incorporate it with all the other exercise that I do. I really like it, but you must know that it does take work as does all exercises. I like it because it allows me to do different things each day….and if I am just standing around, I get on it. I have had cheaper models, but this one to me, is the best of them, for a piece of equipment that does not cost an arm and a leg! There are NO miracle machines out there, no matter what the infomercials tell you. I lost my counter and i am trying to find out how to get another one.

I got my LTT out after having it for about 4 years collecting dust, I’m pregnant and needed to do some ‘safe’ exercise to help tone my thighs and bum .. I have regained my love for this machine, after just a few days I can’t yet see but I can feel the results .. tip use ladies dumbells when using it, it’ll help tone the top half and arms

hey all! I’m 13 and use the ltt daily. It’s my dad’s but I hop on every couple of days for roughly 30 minutes when he’s out the house. You should really buy it! X

(180) Angie says:

I’ve owned my LTT for several years and I’ve had my fair share of issues with them. One day I was working out and all of a sudden the chain snapped. I was a college student at the time and couldn’t afford a new one so after tipping it upside down and looking at it I realized the chain that is there is simply a bicycle chain. I went to a bike store and bought a new chain for about $12. It was enough chain to fix the chain issue like 6 times. All you do is cut the chain to about the size of the old one (this may take some trial and error so go on the long side to be safe at first), wrap the chain around the teeth and connect it to where it was previously connected to the legs. It will be good as new. Also when you replace the chain make sure to put some grease on it. This will help dissipate the heat that is created as you’re working out so it increases the life of the chian plus it will decrease noise and shavings.

Furthermore, the squeaks, I found this could be fixed by getting a screw driver and tightening up all the screws and you can also try some lock tight to keep them in place. If this doesn’t work you could try taking some foam sheets (like the packaging foam that come wrapped around fragile objects like glassware), remove the screws and the plastic foot and placing the foam between the plastic foot and the rod, then put the screws back in and tighten them as far as you can. Don’t forget under the plastic feet there is a screw in the back make sure that is tight as well (it’s kind of hidden in a little hole). I’ve done this a couple times and it’s helped. I also noticed there is less noise if I take the speed control and move it so it’s not all the way set to the fastest speed but just a tad bit over.

Hope this helps!

I found that the lateral thigh trainer did improve some of my muscles over a period of time but tended to put a strain on my lower back area, also the chain broke after a while (even though maintained and oiled/greased) throwing me sharply back. I would strongly advise anyone using LTT to make sure that there is nothing near to the machine that you could fall into (glass cabinets, sharp objecs etc). I luckily fell ito an armchair that was behind me, or I would have fallen on the floor.

We’ve had one for some time now but I’ve been using it a lot recently as I am doing the Great North Run in September and I am currently not able to spend hours running as I am studying for A Level exams so I have found this a simple way to help tone and strengthen my legs whilst I revise. I really enjoy it, I’ve found that even on the toughest setting my joints don’t ache which is normally a problem for me. Even after a few weeks using the LTT daily I have found that my legs look and feel toned, however I seem to be able to tone up my legs fairly quickly after years of horse riding and gymnastics! I also have found that when I am using the LTT when revising that i can stick to a pace and almost forget I am using it so can go for hours on it! As for toning anything other than your legs im unsure, I squat for a toned bum and use arm weights when on the LTT if i want better ‘work out’ using my arms as if I were running. If you are determined and use the LTT to coincide with other exercise and a healthy diet you will look and feel better, although it will take time!
As for faulty-ness I have noticed mine does squeek slightly once I have been using it for a lengthy amount of time, apart from that mine is great, no other problems. Oh, except that the counter has broken. I would certainly reccommend this piece of kit!

Hey all,

It really does work !!!

Simply get enough mind power to get up of that comfy sofa, listen to some music for 30-40 mins 3 times a week, more if you like and you will slim down, tone up, bum perks up too, nice flat stomach.
At first I could hardly do 10 mins, after a few weeks I could do 20 and so on so dont get put off as its really hard work but fun too.

Lost 2 stone in 2 months after birth, abit of a wobbler now so Im about to tone up again for the summer :-)
I’m a normal slim girl anyhow and have tried many work outs, swimming, gym etc, this is much easier and nice as your at home.
