In the forum - How Many Reps?

Tuesday May 10, 2005
Strength training can be confusing as one forum member points out saying: " My trainer at the gym had me doing 3 sets of 15 for everything. I've read that one set to warm up and one more set of 12 reps is sufficient. I've read that I should be doing 1 set. 3 sets. ARGHHHH." So, what's the right answer? Come join the discussion and find out what the experts have to say.

I’m still not getting my question answered! I know what sets are but what are reps? If someone could answer, I’d appreciate it!

Rep: the repetition of the excerise.
Set: the number of reps in a group.

ex: 15 repetitions of crunches 3 times is said as 15reps/3sets.

Hope this answered your question.

So what you are saying is 15 cruches equals 1 set. So if I do 45 cruches than I have done 15reps/3sets.
