Is it a Never-Ending Struggle?

In her Crunch Time Blog, Suzanne writes about something we all experience from time to time...that dreaded feeling of blah when faced with the task of exercising.
The first step in dealing with the blahs is admitting it, as Suzanne did in her blog post. The second step is to keep pushing, but with an eye on how you're feeling. Keep showing up for your workouts, but be flexible with yourself if you find things aren't going well. Don't be afraid to:
- Stop your workout if you still feel tired after 10-15 minutes.
- Do a different workout if your just not up for a lot of pounding or sweating. Yoga anyone?
- Give yourself an extra rest day. Sometimes that's all you need to get back into the routine
- Break out of the usual. Sometimes, following the same routine for weeks on end can get boring. Trying something different can build a little more excitement for exercise.
- Plan something soothing. Try scheduling a massage, a facial or just a quiet evening listening to your favorite music. Having something to look forward to makes it easier to get through your workouts.
- Re-visit your goals. If you didn't write down your goals, now would be a good time to do that so you're always reminded of why you're working so hard.
- Visit Suzanne's blog and tell her how you get through the blahs. Support is so helpful when you need a nudge in the right direction.
