Around About - Are You Stressed?
Friday July 21, 2006
I don't know about you, but I'm very glad it's Friday. It seems like everyone is stressed out right now with crazy work schedules and overloaded summer schedules...what happened to our lazy summer? It's easy to get caught up in life and forget to stop and catch your breath, especially when it's too hot to breathe. Today, why not take some time to calm down and check in with yourself. How are you doing? Are you overworked and stress? Maybe you need a little time to yourself...even if it's just a few minutes, it can be rejuvenating. Check out some of these resources for relaxing and checking in with yourself:
- Stress and Self-Sabotage. Elizabeth's article is excellent, covering all the ways we increase stress with ugly self-talk. This is a nice remember to be kind to yourself and to others.
- Living in the Present Moment. When I get stressed out, I often think about the future and all thing things I don't have time to do. That's one reason I tracked down Leonard's article, to get a little reminder that living in the present moment can ease stress immediately.
- 10 Ways to Feel Good About Your Life. I like this article posted by Mary Shomon. It provides some simple ways to take a moment to appreciate your life and where you are in this moment.
What about you? Have you been stressed out lately? How do you deal with your stress? Let us know in comments.
