Really, it’s 2 and 3 for me. I marked number three though because that means the most to me. I also do it to lose inches, not weight.
All the reasons given are valid for me. But mostly I exercise because I enjoy it. I like to sweat, feel I can run forever, beat my boyfriend in tennis, go to bed tired with sore muscles, carry all my gear when hiking, pass stationary traffic on my bike, etc etc. It just makes me feel good. Everything else is a bonus.
I excersize to stay in shape and stay healty.
i exercise to be able to fit into the jeans i have because its hard for me to find bigger sized clothes that fit me comfortably
I will agree with Em. I exercise because I need to be challenged physically and push my limits. I enjoy being super fast with great stamina and a good body. I like to feel hurt and sore after workouts and then move onto my usual daily life. I also take some joy in the fact that I do things that pretty much no one else does.
All the above I can relate too, but I noticed that my sex drive just took off after starting an excercise program to loose wieght and maintain a level of fitness.
I’ve always found that exercising doesn’t have to be a pain in the rear.
If I find something I enjoy doing for
exercise, I’ll stay with it and reach
my fitness goals and lose weight.
I exercise to keep my weight down and as an alternative to medication for cholesteral control.
My choices are 1, 2, 3, & 5 as well as to improve my mood, alleviate depression and develop a social network.
After my DH death last year I realized that I had become isolated from people and going to the gym has helped to change that.
