In the Forum - Strength Training Motivation

Friday August 4, 2006
We all have our favorite exercises and activities. For some of us, we love strength training and dread cardio and, for others, it's just the opposite. It's hard to find motivation for workouts you don't feel excited about but it does pay off to think about why. What is it you don't like about some types of workouts? Could it be that you're re not sure what you're getting out of it? Or maybe you haven't figured out why it should be important to you.

One of our forum members needs a little help, commenting, "I need help with motivation for strength/resistance training. I don't have any problem at all with motivation for cardio...My problem is staying motivated with resistance training." What do you think? Does this person need a change in perspective to make strength training more meaningful? Come join the discussion and tell us what you think.
