Vote in This Week's Poll: How Long Have You Been Exercising?
Just ask any veteran exerciser and they'll probably tell you they've had plenty of times when they've gotten off track for one reason or another, but most would also tell you they've been on the exercise roller coaster long enough to know that getting back to it as soon as you can is the only way to go.
What about you? How long have you been exercising? Are you just getting started or do you have a few years under your belt? Vote in this week's poll and tell us about it.

The best thing I ever did to keep me on course with my exercise program is that I made a list of all the exercises for the week. I broke them down into 5 different segments and did one of them per day and gave myself a couple of days off. The main thing is to write down exactly what you did (i.e. how far I ran, how heavy were my weights, how many reps, etc.). This is a simple but powerful tool.
I just turned 47 on the 24th. I have consistently followed structured exercise programs for 25 years. I use tools similar to Ken Uyeno, and I change up my routines every 3-5 weeks. Sometimes it’s hard to get in an exercise session, with all that goes on, but when I can’t make a session, I try to get in some type of activity, walking, short jog, taking the stairs instead of the elevator etc., anything to keep moving. Physical fitness is not a six week committment, it’s a lifestyle.
I have exercised off and on most of my life. Unfortunately, I have 4 types of arthritis, and a few other goodies, that
make it off & on. I use a recumbant bike
and my rheumatologist gave me some exercises to do. I use a cane so am some
what limited but do try to keep moving.
I just started exercising after a year long break. The routine is installed after 5 or 6 workouts (2 weeks). I already see the difference in my shape.
Why did I stopped?
