I have to admit that I don't work my abs all that often because they often get plenty of attention with other strength training exercises and even some cardio activities like kickboxing. But when I do work my abs, I enjoy doing a variety of moves like the Ball Pass. This exercise is great because it works the entire core and you really have to contract the abs to stabilize the body as you pass the ball from the hands to the feet and back again. This is an advanced move, but you can always modify by only lowering the arms and legs as far as you can without arching the back.
Do it right: Begin by lying on your back with the legs straight up (bend them if needed) and holding the ball straight up over the body. Put the ball between the feet, squeezing them to keep the ball in place, and lower both the arms and legs down towards the floor. Bring them back up and take the ball in your hands, lowering the arms and legs down towards the floor again. Continue, exchanging the ball between the hands and feet for 8-12 reps. Remember...don't arch the back! To make this move easier, just lower the arms and legs a little or keep the knees bent.

Yes, this exercise does work your abs. It’s a great all around workout for your abs. Good-bye crunches
