5 Ways to Get Fat in College
In a recent article, College Students: Hip, fly...and fat, a survey reveals that college students are still fighting the pounds, perhaps even more now than when I was in college back when the dinosaurs roamed. According to the survey, almost half of the male students were overweight or obese, while up to 30% of the female students surveyed were overweight or obese. The culprits won't surprise you, I'm sure: eating too much junk food and being too sedentary.
What's important here is that changing behaviors now, while you're young, can make it easier to sustain those healthy behaviors as you get older. Any adult trying to make healthy changes can tell you that, the older you are and the more responsibilities you have, the harder it is to change long-held habits and attitudes about eating and exercise.
So, what can you do to avoid weight gain? You'll find some ideas on my article, 5 Ways to Get Fat in College and, if you have some ideas to share, leave them in comments so others can benefit from your wisdom.

Some collage cafeteria’s have a meal plan that allows you to pay per serving of, saves money and pounds, if you limit yourself to a monthly budget.
I always stole an apple or an orange out of the cafeteria for when I wanted something to munch on later. It was so much better than running over to the vending machine. Also, make sure you hit up the salad bar in your cafeteria at meal times.
I stock up on protein bars and shakes. My campus is right by a McDonalds (of course) and they have the best salads for $1. I drink a lot of water and walk to all of my classes.
