How to Stay Motivated to Exercise
Wednesday June 20, 2007
Losing interest in exercise is something that happens to all of us at one time or another. Sometimes you get burned out, other times you feel like you're not getting anywhere and then there are the times when life gets out of control and it's all you can do to make sure your clothes match.
Losing interest is one thing, but allowing it to continue for days or weeks is what you want to avoid, especially if you're trying to lose weight. Starting all over can be a frustrating process so, rather than go that route, try some of these tricks for staying motivated. All it takes is one thing that gets you moving.

Switch it up. Try new places to work out, and try different sports.
I have to do different things on different days. That way I don’t get too bored with it all.
What’s wrong with being bored?
Exercising along with being bored provides a nice meditational background to the exercise session.
The physiological value (inclusive of the Endorphins rush) is the same.
Nobody “owes” nobody any entertainment value in exercising.
If good nutritional food is “boring” go eat Pizza with lots of undigestable melted cheese - this must be VERY interesting, including the indigestion.
If good exercise session is “boring” go smoke a cigar - that’s really interesting. The recovery from lung cancer is a commensurate thrill as well.
What kind of exercises can I do if I had lower back surgery with replace disc?
Exercise naked
I want to exercise with Caroline!
Go to a class with a friend and try something neither of you have tried before. My friend and I tried a Pilates class last year which was a pleasant change from my running routine.
