Vote in This Week's Poll: Would you take the new diet pill, Alli?
Anyone who visits my site regularly knows that I'm no fan of diet pills of any kind but, since I'm not Queen of the Universe and, therefore, have no control over such things, I realize that plenty of people will want to try it. After reading Jennifer's great article, All About Alli, and learning about the disturbing side effects, I'm wondering...how many of you will run out (or have already run out) and try Alli? Vote in this week's poll and, if you've tried it, tell us your experiences in comments.
Poll: Would you take the new diet pill, Alli?

2. No
3. I'm not sure

I would take it, but I would be a little nervous. What I’ve read about the side effects scares me a little. I do plenty of exercise and eat correctly. (I ran full marathon this year so I know I am in shape) I just can’t get my belly flat, so anything to help with fat loss I look into.
I took Alli for over a week and I experienced all of the talked about side effects. I decided it was not worth the discomfort to continue taking this product. If you are able to be close to a bathroom at all times, go for it… if not. Get to the gym!
Alli has been known to cause pre-cancerous lesions, according to studies, and if the diet is not followed correctly, stomach upset occurs. It has not been tested long enough and is far too risky. I would rather try other means of losing weight.
i am in pretty good shape so i dont need to take Alli and if i wasnt in good shape or i was over weight then i wouldnt take it i wouldt take any sort of pill. the correct and most healthy way to diet is to excersise and eat right. plus, who wants to have an up set tummy all the time. go have fun and be healthy. and you will see results…i did :]
I was watching Oprah a few weeks back and she said it best, “If there were a diet pill out there that actually worked, I would have it!” We do not become fat over night and we will never become thin over night. Take a good look at your life style and figure out were you can fit an hour a day for you to go work out at a local gym or outdoors at a high school stadium. Make a choice for better health, better eating, more rest. Stop comparing yourself to other people! We are all different and we all have different goals. Stay away from diet pills, the only thing you’re doing is making drug companies richer and spending more of your hard earned money at the Dr office, dure to fatal side effects.
duuhh!!honestly!all i wanted was to be thin,i had tried different kinds of diet pills but, duhhh, their`s even no result at all,im just waisting my money on it!!that`s why,i dont wanna take any kind of pills now,and also after i found out its side effects!!
I think I have tried everything out there! Either you feel like you have had 4 pots of coffee, or in makes you sick! I would like to try it and see what would happen to my body good or bad. The last 20 pds are the worst go loose!
Will never try it. I’ve read the correct info on it and the belly aches and greasy stool and potential odor as a result would not be worth it to me. Plus, if you look at the percentage of weight loss it is supposed to give…not even close to tempting. Walk an extra 1/2 hour a day and you’d equal it.
I have been using it religiosly and have had no side effects. If you have side effects it is because you consumed too much fat in the meal you ate. The book tells you for your weight/activity level the amount of calories/fat intake you need to take in. Otherwise your stomach acts up and you have to got the bathroom. It has really got me jump started, it says you will only lose 1 pound a week and so far it has. I only need to lose about 15 pounds and I go to the gym 4 times a week. Still have troubles losing the pounds. FOr me this has been great.
I have been using alli for about a week and have been satisfied with it so far.
I haven’t seen any major side effects and i believe if this product is used as directed it can be very effective.I don’t believe you should use alli if your only fifteenlbs overwieght.Alli is a wieght loss tool just like hypnosis or a gym membership is.i am 350 lbs and go to the gym three times a week and try to eat a balanced diet and if this tool will help me i will gladly use it.
thank you all for your comments you saved me a waste of time money and health!!!
I have used alli for a week and have had none of the side effects. You just have to follow the plan. And what better motivation to follow a low fat, low calorie diet than the risk of intestinal disturbances! It’s working for me!
HELL NO!!!
The advertising says take the pill, eat sensibly and exercise. Well, Duh!
Not for diabetics or thyroid conditions. So much for me trying it.
I work in pharmacy, and I have filled this drug for patients (when it was Rx strength) and while some said it worked, most quickly stopped taking it due to the side effects. I have to say – I would NOT recommend taking it. The main purpose for taking this drug, while yes, it does block fat absorbtion, is to teach you what is and isn’t okay to eat. I don’t know about anyone else, but I don’t need to pay $50 to learn that. Everyone knows an apple is better for them than a donut is. So basically, all that’s going to happen is that you are going to take it, eat something you shouldn’t and learn something you already knew, but you’re going to learn the hard way – through the foulest diarrhea you’ve known and through oily flatulence. I don’t know, I think I’d rather just employ my own common sense than go through that!
I would recommend that anyone who can discipline themselves to eat a very low fat diet to try this little pill. It works but the side effects are brutal if you can’t be disciplined.
For those of you who suggest to just eat right I have some news for you. Some of us do and it’s just not enough. News flash!!! We all have different genes, lifestyles and health issues. So, for some, this may help to lose a few more pounds and that’s a good thing.

I would not take this pill. I have tried many diet pills in the past and none have worked and I did not feel well at all while taking them. Over the last few months I have quit obsessing over my weight and I have ironically gotten down to my ideal weight! I eat right, but allow myself to indulge in treats every few days. I am active but I dont sepnd countless hours in the gym. I think the reason I began to lose weight was because I wasn;t stressing out about it anymore!
I started to purchase “Alli”, but after reading all the side effects I put it right back on the shelf. Life is too busy to be stuck on the toilet. STAY AWAY! Stick to water, diet drinks and a low fat diet with exercise.
I saw it in Walmat today and was about to buy it when I read about the side effects I placced it back on the shelf it’s not worth the trouble.
As a rule, I’m not too big on taking pills anyway. But any pill that prompts the manfacturer to suggest that you carry around an extra pair of dark pants with you – in case you have an “accident” – is beyond my comprehension. The fact that people still want to take the pill with possible side effects like that is mind boggling.
Repeat after me – Diet, Exercise, Lifestyle. Diet, Exercise, Lifestyle. Diet…
Don’t rely on pills for weight loss. There is not enough research on it. The best way to lose weight is exercise and a nutritional diet. America seems to want the easy way out to achieve a goal, sad. Hard work will pay off if you set your mind to and you stay motivated and dedicated.
I am taking it and loving it. The biggest thing that it does is force you to read labels and control your food intake or else Alli (should be overlord) will punish you. I cheated once and was punished. Other than the once incident that was completely my fault, I have had no “treatment effects”. I have been on it for 3 weeks. I have went down one belt hole each of the last two weeks. Learn to eat good and you will lose weight. This is tool gives excellent feedback and I am so grateful.
I have to say, my doctor recamended Alli, and I have been on it for a week now. I eat ‘reletively’ right on most occasions, and even with the scary side effects that are labled, I have yet to have them. If anything it keeps me regular (I know that sounds nasty…sorry) but in the morning, I expect to go potty, then my days are very normal. I go to the beach, ride my horses, play with my kids, and never have to be in the bathroom more than I was before using it. I am starting to feel ever so slightly more relaxed jeans, and it has made me feel confident that I am on my way to a smaller thinner me! It is wonderful! Even if it isn’t a magical pill that will magically turn me skinny over night, it is a great way to be consious about what you put into your body. I even went to dinner tonight with friends, and didn’t worry a single bit. I love Alli (So far) =D
I have been on alli a couple of weeks and i am losing 2 pounds a week. I would recommend this pill to anyone if you don’t want the mess that may happe in your pants you will eat right. It is a head game you play. And it is what i needed to get my game started it is the best for me.
I Love the stuff. I just started taking it and have had some side effects because of eating a few things higher in fat. This along with strength training AND cardio is a great package.
Different bodies,different effects!

Honestly,I love this pill, and I think it’s good for the majority not to be tempted to try it.I take it will be more on the shelves for people like me who are not running wild after experiencing a bit of flatulance or else.
Yes,yes, people, don’t take it,it’s not good, seriously,go to the gym and watch what you’re taking to your mouth!!
Meanwhile,I’ll be doing just the same with you,but also taking alli and,why not?
