Your New Year's Resolution Exercise & Weight Loss Toolkit

Tuesday January 1, 2008

I love a shiny new year, don't you? It's a chance to start fresh - to finally be that person I've always wanted to be. This person always eats healthy and exercises. She never indulges in foods that are bad for her, nor does she ever get cranky about her workouts. She's always energetic and motivated and she makes all her own meals from scratch.

And if you believe that, allow me to pull your other leg.

A new year isn't about becoming perfect, but it can be about improving upon what we already have. Instead of reaching for perfection, why not take a more realistic approach to your New Year's resolutions this year? My New Year's Resolution Exercise & Weight Loss Toolkit is the place to start. No matter what you want to achieve this year or where you are in your exercise journey, you'll find plenty of articles, workouts, quizzes and more to help you make this your healthiest year yet.

There is a problem that the media portrays unrealistic goals as simple to acheive. When regular folks with hectic jobs and families don’t see the promised results, its so easy to slip back into the old ways.

The fitness industry needs to promote living better as a lifelong goal, not a 6 week program. And I know they pay money to be on this page, but the ads here are part of the problem. I’m not suggesting they don’t work, but the details “as part of healthy diet and excercise” get lost in the shuffle, way smaller than the headline promising near-miracles.

So, do you force advertisers to revise these ads, remove them from this page, or look the other way? Go ahead, take the first step, I dare you!

I like this one… it’s cute and it actually hits home with the treadmill/closet; or in my case, elliptical/closet…
Good luck to everyone on becoming more health conscientous… Happy New Year, ya’ll!
