Thanksgiving Day Workouts

Thursday November 27, 2008
Happy Thanksgiving! I just want to take a sentimental moment and say that I'm so grateful for my job here at About.com and for all of you who read my articles, post comments and participate in our little exercise family. Thank you so much for your support, encouragement and even your criticism. You're the reason I'm able to do something I love (wiping away a tear).

Okay, now onto the good stuff. It's Thanksgiving and I know many of you are working out today. If you need some ideas, I've put together a list of workouts that should do the trick, whether you're traveling or staying home. I've also created a brand new Strength and Cardio Circuit that is probably the most challenging workout I've posted. This is the workout I've been doing with some of my clients to get them strong, fit and healthy for the crazy holiday season. It's for intermediate/advanced exercisers and it's longer than my other workouts, so have fun with it.

Happy Thanksgiving to you too, Paige. I’ve found the training and exercise info on the guide to be very helpful in building up my own workout routine. I’ve picked up a lot of good ideas here. Thanks for all the useful advice.

I want to thank you for your column, it because of your column at the age of 50 I decided to get my life back thru exercise. I have been working with a personal trainer now for 2 months and have just joined a gym for the first time. I had not worked out due to a tumor on my brain that was non-cancerous, however for 18 months I was not allowed to work out and became A CLASS A COUCH POTATO.

Thank you for helping me to see the light again.
