Big Weight Loss Blunders

By December 19, 2012

Follow me on:

What's your biggest weight loss mistake? Many of us might say it's eating too much or not exercising enough and, of course, those are the external choices necessary to lose weight. What's more important are the reasons behind those choices.

We don't just stop exercising because we get too busy. We stop exercising because our workouts are no longer a priority anymore. We don't just go off a diet for no reason. We do it because we use food to deal with stress or other emotions and, without it, we don't know how to handle those emotions.

Probably the biggest mistake I see is: Giving up too soon. When you change your diet or start exercising, you aren't just changing what you do...you're changing how you think and that process takes time. If we don't get it right the first time around, we often give up.

What other mistakes do you make? Unrealistic expectations, maybe? Or how about having a negative attitude about exercise? Those are just a few of the ideas I discuss in my article, The Five Biggest Weight Loss Blunders and I also offer some solutions to help you get past those mental obstacles.

What about you? What mistakes do you make when it comes to weight loss? What could you do about it? Leave a comment and tell us about your weight loss experiences.

I guess the main (and maybe only) reason for my recent weight gain is just plain eating too much bad stuff. Being blessed with an excess of food, with a wife who doesn’t want to see me get food poisoning, I find myself racing against the garbage can: leftovers are allowed to keep in the fridge for only so long before they get thrown away. Since I’m the only one in the house who enjoys leftovers (they get better over time), it’s up to me to save them from the garbage can. Lame excuse, I know, but all too true.

My biggest mistake is that, i hold on my dieet but once i eat something it is hard to stop again.
