Guide Review - Workouts for Women Circuit Shaping DVD

Workouts for Women's new Circuit Shaping DVD is perfect for the home exerciser who wants short, efficient workouts. The DVD includes 10 circuit workouts, each about 12 minutes long with the ability to repeat the circuit up to 4 times. Each workout starts with a 2-minute warm up and then moves into a variety of strength training moves, each lasting for one minute. The moves include squats, lateral raises, bicep curls, tricep extensions, lunges and crunches, just to name a few. You'll need very little equipment--usually a step, some ankle weights, a chair and some dumbbells. It's easy to increase intensity by adding circuits over time and adding heavier weights. The DVD also comes with cards describing each circuit so you can get your equipment ready before you begin. You could also take these cards with you when you go out of town so you don't miss your workouts. Joni Hyde, the instructor and creator of the Workouts for Women website, has a laid back style and gives good pointers for each exercise. There's no cardio included beyond the brief warmups, so you'll have to do that on your own. Beyond that, this is a great DVD for anyone getting started with exercise or anyone with a tight schedule who wants quick, efficient workouts with plenty of variety and intensity.
