Your Trainer
Joni Hyde created Workouts for Women and is a certified personal trainer/fitness instructor through ACSM, ACE, AFAA, and (amazingly) is a Black Belt Tae Kwon Do Karate. Joni has been in the fitness industry for 13 years, has worked with hundreds of women and certainly knows her stuff! She says, "The great thing about this program is that you don't have to adhere to a trainer's schedule. You workout when it's convenient for you, while receiving individualized workouts and guidance from a Certified Personal Trainer, at a fraction of the cost of working with a trainer in the traditional way."
Signing Up
Signing up is easy; you simply submit a info about your goals, current fitness level and basic health information (height, weight, age, measurements etc.) You'll have many choices from losing body fat to gaining muscle mass. You'll also choose which level is right for you starting at Rookie One and ending with Super Charged with numerous choices in between. After you sign up, you'll immediately receive an email from Joni welcoming you to the program and providing links to articles with information about the workout you'll be doing.
Your Workout
Once you sign up, you will have your very own workout recipe available to you on the site. It lists your goals, the number of days/circuits you should do for that week and cardio guidelines. You won't get a specific cardio workout since, as Joni mentions, "I leave the mode of cardio up to you. I realize that women have very individual taste regarding cardio."
The resistance workouts involve circuit training in which you'll move from one exercise to another with little or no rest for one complete circuit, repeating the circuit up to four times. This type of workout is efficient and very effective. It takes little time, yet it works all of your major muscle groups so you'll burn mega-calories. Each circuit contains 8 exercises which will become more difficult as you progress through the different fitness levels. You'll know you're ready to move to the next level when you can complete four full circuits of your current routine.
Each workout provides both pictures and video, with the option of printing with and without pictures. The descriptions of the exercises are so detailed that you won't even need to print the pictures. The workout fits on one page so you can easily take it to the gym with you. When you're ready to move to the next level, you'll simply click on 'Members on the Move' where you will again describe your fitness goals. Each time you move up, you will be given a new 'workout recipe' along with a list of equipment you'll need for that particular workout. Every week you'll get a new circuit training routine to help you progress to the next level.
