Cardio Focus: Light Cardio

Remember, this is the new cardio workout you added a couple of weeks ago. Try to add a few more minutes to this workout, but keep the pace at a level that feels just a little above your comfort level. Check your Perceived Exertion to make sure you're staying at Level 5 or higher.

Strength and Flexibility Focus: Mat Work

This week, I've added a new Mat Workout for you to try. This workout incorporates moves from yoga, pilates and other disciplines to help calm and relax you while targeting your flexibility and core strength. This workout is optional.

Nutrition Focus: Deal With Emotional Eating

Many of us eat, even when we're not hungry. We eat when we're bored, stressed out, depressed or even happy. Emotional eating is one reason many of us gain weight so, this week, you'll learn more about emotional eating and how to handle your stress and emotions in a better way.

Motivation

Since you're learning about emotional eating today, here are some ways to keep you on track with your eating. Instead of reaching for food, try these alternatives to deal with stress and emotions:

  • Write in a journal describing how you feel
  • Go for a walk and breathe deeply as you work through how you're feeling
  • Sit down, close your eyes and spend a few minutes breathing deeply and slowly
  • Call or write a letter to a friend
  • Reach for something healthy if you need to munch on something
