While there are a variety of heart rate monitors on the market today, LifeSource offers quality products for reasonable prices.  Choices range from the simple XC100 ($69.95), a perfect choice for beginning exercisers, to the more advanced XC300 ($109.95) for those who want more information about their workout.  The XC300 shows heart rate and calories burned as well as information about time spent in the target heart rate zone.  It also offers a large display, a countdown timer and a stopwatch.  The watch is water resistant and can be worn on your wrist or attached to a bike with the included bracket.  The XC300 is easily programmable, allowing you to set audible alarms to let you know when you're out of your target heart rate zone.  Also included is a transmitter that fits around the chest to provide heart rate information.  You’ll enjoy the advanced features as well as the lower price.
