The Bottom Line
Flickety Fit is an excellent choice for home exercisers who want to try before they buy. They have a great selection of videos from top instructors and, though they don't have the slick, streamlined process of larger online video rental sites, this is a great option for video enthusiasts. You can keep the videos for as long as you want, membership fees are reasonable and keeping your queue full keeps a steady flow of videos coming your way.
Pros
  • A great selection of hard-to-find exercise DVDs from pilates and yoga to step and hi/lo
  • Different memberships allow you to rent up to 3 videos at a time and keep them as long as you want
  • An excellent way to try videos before you buy them
Cons
  • Shipping takes a little long sometimes and you don't always get your first choices
  • Website is often slow to load and pictures are fuzzy

Guide Review - Flickety Fit Fitness DVD Rentals
As a home exerciser who enjoys videos, I've often run into a common problem: videos that suck. That's why I was delighted to find Flickety Fit, a website that allows you to rent fitness DVDs so you can try before you buy. Much like Netflix and Blockbuster, you sign up for a membership (ranging from $11.99 for one video at a time to $20.99 for three at a time), choose the videos you want and then wait for the mail carrier. They have a great selection and offer harder-to-find videos like those by Cathe Friedrich, Christi Taylor and Gay Gasper, none of which you'll find at Netflix or Blockbuster. The website is easy to use and you can search by type of video, keyword or alphabetically. You won't always get your first choice (or even your first few) since, like a library, there are often limited copies, but by keeping your queue full of choices, you'll always get something. They offer a two week trial though you'll probably only get to try one video during that time since shipping times are often 3-5 days (my videos have averaged about 4 days). Other quirks include the slow-loading website and fuzzy or absent pictures, which can make navigation a little frustrating. Also, they mention you can buy videos and show a 'shopping cart' but there doesn't seem to be any way to actually purchase anything. Still, as far as I know, there's no other website like this out there and it's a great way to try videos without wasting your money. Hopefully, they'll improve over time.
