The Bottom Line
Trainer's Edge Killer Kicks is a decent video offering a 45-minute kickboxing workout for beginners. Each section, from punches and kicks to combos and strength training, is short and provides detailed instructions for how to perform each move...perfect for people who've never tried kickboxing and want something simple and straightforward. The intensity tends to be low-moderate and the choreography is very basic, so this video might not appeal to intermediate/advanced exercisers.

Guide Review - Trainer's Edge Killer Kicks
Trainer's Edge Killer Kicks isn't the most exciting video out there, but it might appeal to beginners who need more instruction on basic kickboxing moves. The worst thing about the video is the commercials at the beginning, which can't be bypassed. Once you get past that, the workout itself offers 8 sections, each about 6 minutes long. There's a warm up which takes you through basic punches at a slow pace with instructions on proper form and technique. The next section focuses on a punching combo (jab/cross, hook/uppercut, jab/cross/jab) at a slow pace with plenty of repetition. The next section covers front kicks, roundhouses and back kicks followed by a combination of punches and kicks. This section was a bit disappointing since it only included one very basic combo (roundhouse with squat, jab, jab, cross) repeated on both sides. After this is a simple weight training section where you do bicep curls and upright rows with a body bar, followed by slow punches holding very light hand weights. The lower body weight section includes squats, deadlifts, knee lifts and side kicks. The last section focuses on abs and includes basic moves such as crunches, bicycles, reverse crunches and leg circles. Overall, this video might appeal to beginner exercisers who want a simple, basic workout. The instructor offers good instruction and cueing and the background exercisers offer modifications, but the intensity is low and the combos aren't very exciting.
