Guide Review - Sara Holliday's Stoller Workout for Moms

You don't need a stroller to do this workout but, if you're a mom who'd like to exercise more intensely while taking the baby for a walk, you'll enjoy this workout. The workout is filmed outside at the Mission Trails Regional Park in San Diego which provides a lovely view that most video workouts are lacking. It doesn't have the slick video production like other videos and, while some users might find this distracting, I find it refreshing. The only problem with this type of production is that the audio is a bit hard to hear at times. Sara does the entire workout in a small area, so you won't need much room, and she includes a section on modifications so you can do the workout indoors as well. The workout starts with a basic warm up, pushing the stroller and walking. You proceed from there into a series of intervals that alternate between cardio (walking or jogging) and body weight moves such as squats, walking lunges (and she does a LOT of these), pushups, dips, kickboxing drills and more. There's a 10-minute toning section with leg lifts and similar exercises followed by a yoga-like stretching segment. The music is energetic if a little bland, but Sara has great energy and a friendly, engaging personality. The DVD also comes with an audio version so you can listen to it and do your workout outside as well. Overall, this is a good, solid workout and great for moms who want to exercise but have a hard time fitting it in with a new baby.
