Definition: A dumbbell is a weighted piece of equipment, usually made of chrome, cast iron, steel or rubber. Dumbbells are used to add resistance to strength training exercises to build muscle, strength and power. Dumbbells range from 1 lb to over 50 lbs and are usually sold in pairs.
