Guide Review - Cardio Coach Volume 3
When I reviewed Sean's first 2 CDs, I had no idea it would change the way I use my treadmill. Volume 3 is even better! Volume 3, like the others, is a cardio workout that takes you through 4 different levels of intensity--Level 1 is low intensity, Level 2 is medium, Level 3 is high and Level 4 is killer. You set your incline/speed to match each level (using target heart rate or Perceived Exertion). The workout begins with a warm up and moves right into a Level 2 Steady State. After this is your first challenge--6 Level 3 sprints, 30 seconds each with a 30 second rest in between. Yowza! Following that you get a brief rest and it's on to Challenge 2--what Sean calls "two tough gradual exertion building hills." Each of these 'hills' are 3 minutes long--1 minute to get to Level 3, maintain that for another minute and then use the last minute to get to Level 4, if you dare! After this, you get a nice break at Level 2 and then it's your last challenge--4 Level 4 sprints, each one 10 seconds long with 30 seconds in between. You'll need to stay on top of your machine settings for that phase or you'll miss it. The workout ends with a Level 2 phase, a cooldown and a stretch. The music is great in this volume--it matches the intervals perfectly and really gets you pumped up. Sean's cueing is right on and you'll find yourself working harder than you would on your own. Best of all, the workout flies by and you're done before you know it. An excellent buy for any exerciser!
