Guide Review - Personal Travel Trainer Audio CD
Personal Travel Trainer is an audio CD (or MP3 download) offering travelers a chance to stretch and strengthen the body during long trips where sitting is a requirement. The CD is divided into two workouts, stretching and strengthening and each workout offers a introduction explaining proper posture and instructions for the exercises. The stretching workout is a bit long at close to 30 minutes and focuses on the neck, shoulders, back, arms and legs. The instructor guides you through each stretch with clear instructions and detailed cues for breathing and getting the most out of each stretch. The stretches are gentle and designed for all fitness levels. The jazzy music is a bit like elevator music, but pleasant on the ears. The toning section is about 37 minutes long and incorporates isometric exercises for the glutes, abs and arms with moves like glute squeezes, ab contractions, seated ab crunches and bicep curls. The arm work gets a bit tedious (this section is over 20 minutes long), but gives you something active to do while enroute. The exercises themselves are basic and easy to follow and it's nice to have a workout to follow while on the road. This is a simple and straightforward way to get a little movement in on long trips. You have the option to order the CD ($16.95) or the MP3 version ($4.95).
