Guide Review - Sara Holliday's Prenatal Yoga - Third Trimester
Sara Holliday's last video in her prenatal yoga series is just as good as the first two videos. This one is filmed beachside with a nice view of the ocean. There's no music, just the sound of the wind and waves hitting the beach. Sara begins with yoga breathing exercises and then moves into some light stretches to open up the chest and back. The standing moves are very short and simple - squats to open up the hips and thighs, torso circles and a standing version of cat and cow. She also includes a section on breathing that is specifically for labor. With this type of breathing, you quickly bring the arms up and down while breathing fast (almost panting) for several minutes. The floor poses follow and are very relaxing, designed to stretch the muscles of the hamstrings, inner thighs, glutes and the lower back. This section alternates between flowing movements and static stretches followed by some great stretches for the neck and upper back. You end the workout in relaxation pose (resting on your side) while breathing and releasing tension throughout the body followed by a short chanting meditation. Overall, this workout is very soothing and relaxing. It's well-choreographed, allowing for slow, flowing movements as well as gentle, static stretches that help release tension and tightness. This is a great choice for anyone wanting a simple, gentle yoga workout.
