Weight Loss Success Story In Progress

How much weight I lost

I have lost 32 pounds and counting. I also lost 3 dress sizes so far!

What motivated me to lose weight

It was a number of factors. Health was one reason - I am diabetic and my HBA1C was skyrocketing even with medication. My doctor indicated that I would have to go on insulin if I didn't make a change.

Family was another reason. I had gotten so large that I could barely fit in an airplane seat. This made it difficult to fly to visit family and kept me from seeing them as often as I wanted because I was embarrassed. Finally, my dog is a long-lived breed and I was beginning to wonder if I would be around for her as long as she lived. She is very attached to me, so I worried she'd grieve herself to death.

How I lost weight

In the past I had tried other plans and failed. I had a lot of friends and family members who found success with Travis Martin's Thrive Weightloss (http://thriveweightloss.com/) so I decided to give it a try. They advertise that their program is "not a diet, it's a lifestyle". I knew I needed a lifestyle to overcome the affects of diabetes, high cholesterol, and high blood pressure. The plan is balanced and easy. I feel better than I have in years. Thus far I have come off one medication and had the dosages lowered on two others. I love that I have lost inches! I know that if I follow the program, I will continue to see health improvements and lose more pounds and inches. I still have more weight to lose, but I am confident that I can do it!

Tips and Tricks

  • Choose a plan and stick with it. There are lots of programs out there that work, but you have to follow them!
  • Select a plan that is balanced and allows you to "cheat" from time to time.
  • Find a diet buddy or support system. Thrive has a Facebook page that has been very important to me.
