What motivated me to lose weight
I gained the 50 lbs from having my daughter. What motivated me was that I wanted to get back to my old self. I was always skinny and never had to lose weight just to maintain. I was in a totally new boat this time. My self confidence went down the drain. I wanted to feel sexy and pretty again. I also wanted to be healthy for my family and keeping the weight on was not good for me I could not move the way I used to even just getting off the ground was a struggle and that was really sad for me.
How I lost weight
I lost the weight by eating right and exercising. I know it sounds really boring, but it took me about a year and I went from 195 lbs to 145. I reduced my portions and ate healthier things. I bring my lunch to work usually Healthy Choice or Lean Cuisine. In the beginning I used a free internet tool caloriecount.com and that really helped me. I just entered everything I ate during the day. The best part for me was it gave me a grade for the day so I wanted to get a good grade, so I ate things that were good for me. It was not easy because I love food, but I learned everything in moderation and I have my splurge day, which is Saturday. Now I am happier, healthier and can chase around my crazy daughter and she was worth every pound.
Tips and Tricks
- Don't completely deprive yourself, but don't totally binge either - find a happy medium.
- Exercise is your friend - don't fight it because there is no miracle pill or drink that will make you thin. You have to work at it.
- Don't eat right before bed. Some say its a myth, but I feel it's true
