What motivated me to lose weight
When I turned 40, and weighed 420 lbs, I decided I should at least give losing some weight a try. A local gym had the first month for free, so I signed up.
How I lost weight
Keeping track of calories, writing everything down, and going to the gym 6 or 7 days a week for about a year.
Usually 45 to 60 minutes on the treadmill, at the highest incline possible, followed by weightlifting every other day.
About 1500 to 1800 calories a day, writing down & keeping track of everything.
Tips and Tricks
- Take it a step at a time, I started by walking about 15 minutes a day, and lifting weights. Then started seeing some results, and gradually added changes in diet. Writing down the food and workouts every day helped a lot.
- When my weight loss slowed, I would increase the incline on the treadmill and that really seemed to help.
