Already Got My First Workout In!

Off to a great start today! I'm following Paige's 12 Weeks to Weight Loss program. Today was Day 1 and the cardio workout was interval training. Since I've been biking and walking these past few months, I decided I could go for 30 minutes -- and I was right! I did 30 minutes at level 7 of the "Ramp Interval 1" program of the exercise bike. I worked hard and it felt GREAT! I followed it up with the flexibility workout.

I'm going to use my own tracker to track my eating and exercise habits. Numbers motivate me! I am so used to reading food labels now -- and sometimes it'll even stop me from eating something. Measurement-wise, I'm just going to track weight, thigh, hips and waist. I also want to track my resting heart rate. Right now it's at about 50 -- which I'm really quite proud of! In terms of weight, it's not that I have a lot of "weight" to lose, it's a matter of my body composition. Too much fat and not enough muscle, at any weight, is not good. And I can gain weight very easily, so that's a trend I want to stop by becoming more fit.

  • PM Gym Weight/Home Weight: 141/138 (when I weigh myself first thing in the morning the scale says 134)
  • Thigh: 23.5 inches
  • Hips: 38 inches
  • Waist: 30 inches

I tried on my "if I lose 5lbs I can fit into these" jeans -- I can get them on, zip them up, but I wouldn't be able to sit in them for long! LOL! So, that's one goal that I'm aiming for: I want to wear these jeans!
