Ab Exercise of the Week - Bicycle

Friday September 19, 2003

The bicycle is a great exercise for the abs because it targets multiple muscles - the rectus abdominis (the 'six-pack') and the obliques (around the waist).

Do it right: Lightly cradle head in hands and bring right knee in towards the chest while twisting to the right, touching the left elbow to the knee. Repeat on left side, going from side to side in a steady pedaling motion. Keep the lower back on the floor (don't arch the back) and imagine pulling your belly button towards your spine. More ab exercises.

Give me an old cool bicycle, and I’ll ride around the city for days.
