Guide Review: Shape Your Self by Martina Navratilova

Monday April 17, 2006
I'm a huge fan of Martina Navratilova, but I wasn't all that excited to read yet another celebrity diet/fitness book. I was pleasantly surprised to see a solid plan that takes you through the mental and physical steps you need to get to a healthier you. Though there isn't a ton of new information here (she covers the basics of exercise, healthy eating, etc.), she does have some great recipes to try and some common sense advice about taking care of your body...not just to look good, but to feel good. Check out more details in my review of Shape Your Self by Martina Navratilova.

Please don’t put these things online. You are just provoking annoying gym teachers to make students write papers on something we already know. If we didn’t know about fitness, exercise, and our bodies we would all be dead right now. Please help us. Thank you

Good to see that someone’s written a book with recipes for some enjoyable, as well as healthy, meals. No matter how high the motivation for a healthier lifestyle, food that’s boring or unsatisfying will severely test it!

I’m also glad to see Martina tackles the mental as well as physical aspects of health and fitness. A positive mental attitude makes the achievement of fitness (or any other goal, for that matter) a whole lot easier… as Martina’s own career has proved.

Thanks for this review.
