Not having the support of my family. My husband would rather sit on the couch and watch TV, and since I’m diabetic, I HAVE to exercise; I don’t get the luxury of being a couch potato.
Eating between meals
No support which leads to cheat eating. My parents accuse me of being anorexic (they are both very overweight) and take me to restaurants where I can only eat unhealthy options. My friends always try to get me to eat out late at night and have a lot of drinks.
We need to stop listening to all of these so called fittness experts. I know that it is my responsability to research what is best for my personal fitness program. If there is one thing that will help all of us, it is to insure that we take in the proper amount of water. This one nutrient has a profound effect on every aspect of our lifes.
Kathy McClanahan I feel your pain! My boyfriend and I live together and in the mornings I’ll set my alarm clock to go to the gym before work, it’ll go off and he’ll say “don’t go… you know you’d rather stay in bed and cuddle”… of COURSE I’d RATHER stay in bed and cuddle. I have found that if I want to exercise, I need to go straight to the gym after work - that way, he can’t talk me into being a couch potato and watching tv all night with him!
Talking about it and then never starting.
Not taking advantage of small opportunities to work out. Even 10 of intense exercise can make a difference
Working at a facility that have food available at all times (no charge), especially cakes and other sweets. It blows my will power to not overeat.
Too much weight lifting without any core training. I slipped a disk because my lower back muscles couldn’t handle the weight when I went “off center”. I was in misery for three months afterwards and lost a year’s worth of gains.
I like all of those comments. The key for me was recognizing that I am no longer an active young stud who can get away with eating anything. I have had to develop a life plan that incorporates exercise and food management.
Eating too few calories for the amount of exercises I was doing threby “storing” fat.
I am always hungry
It is difficult to maintain consistant exercising and mindful eating when you are a plateau. Also, knowing when to stop “dieting” and being aware that you are at your healthy weight goal and you enjoy the way you look. Always striving for improvement will cause you to end up feeling depressed because there is no “perfection” in anyone’s bodies. Living a healthy lifestyle also includes being happy with oneself, mentally more so , than physical.
i have three kids. (8,2 1/2 and 1) i am a stay at home mother. I don’t have the money to go to the gym and not enough space in the house for the exercise equipment and no partner too..
For me it’s MOTIVATION, how do you guys get it and more important KEEP it?
to motovate yourself take all your clothes off and look at yourself in a mirror when u like what u see you will be happy!
all of these!
Cutting out too many calories and going into starvation mode.
Spending 1-2 hours a day in the gym and drinking 12-24 beers. I am not losing any wheight???
By being a personal trainer at anytime fitness in amite, La., I hear all kinds of weight loss blunders everyday. But the one that I hear the most would be what I like to call the “quick fix complaints.” For example, you might a client ask why can’t I try this?, Are these pills any good?, and why can’t I just get a tummy tuck or liposuction?
Exercise is fine - I enjoy it and I do it regularly. My biggest weight loss blunder is not being careful enough with my diet.
Up until Christmas I was working out everyday. 3xCardio on machines 2xweights and then walking the other days. Then I got that sinus head chest cold that everybody got. Since then I can’t seem to get back on track. Tonite I got a good work out playing ping pong. So I think I’ll try adding more fun things that make me move, and work on my mindset. Has anybody tried hitting the big boxing bag? They just added one in the gym and it looked like it might be fun. The one thing I am doing right is making sure I get my Irish Steel Cut Oatmeal in every day. That has help keep me full and not go on any crazy binges like I used to do.
I always lose about 10 or 15 pounds and get real full of my success and decide I can go ahead and eat something yummy to celebrate. That, of course, sets me right back into my old habits and before I know it, I’m back to my old weight too. Frustrating!
I don’t eat enough! And then I find myself starving and I pig out. Learning to eat better and it becoming a habit is what I need to get through my thick skull.
