Quiz: How much do you know about your metabolism?
Wednesday March 7, 2007
Metabolism is something most of us think about. After all, metabolism helps in managing weight so, the faster it is, the easier it is to lose weight. But, how much control do we really have over metabolism and what can we do to speed things up? To find out how much you know, take the quiz, How much do you know about your metabolism? and learn more about how your body works.
For the record, I posted this quiz last week and it had a few bugs. After an update, the quiz should now be working properly and showing correct and incorrect answers this time. If you have any problems, let me know.

Still not a very helpful quiz
How do you slow down your metabolism? I cant gain weight and I want to .
eve, i’m a certified personal trainer and i thought i would just suggest try lifting weights. a lot of people have used that to give their body a more filled out appearance. you’ll look more defined, be stronger, have more energy, and you’ll put on weight as your muscles grow. that being said, don’t be afraid that you’re going to look like arnold or anything. a woman’s body is NOT made to build like that (unless you’re on steroids). you might like it. it can be very confidence building. if you have no idea how to start, a good idea would be to find a personal trainer who can at least set you on the right path. if you have any other questions let me know
do asians in fact have a higher metabolism? i just read that a couple of days ago, but have never heard it before.
quiz is still buggy…can’t get past the first question.
I have been lifting weights for almost 2 years now, and I am very happy with the way they have defined my body, especially my arms and shoulders. It really can help a skinny body fill out a bit more.
I am not so sure about the brain burning more calories than muscle (all the muscles in the body?) I am not convinced that this is accurate information. I do enjoy this website, nonetheless.
Raceyflips, the brain takes up 1/3 of the basal metabolic rate, followed by the digestive tract, other internal organs, then muscle. Muscle only uses 6-12 calories per pound, not the 60 that the media likes to purport (If it did, wouldn’t olympic athletes have to eat 20,000 calories per day rather than the 7,000 to maintain their muscle?)
