What's New

Friday February 15, 2008
I have nothing good to say about the weather lately, but I have come across a few new tools that may help with your fitness and weight loss goals:
  • Nutrition on the Go. How cool is this? Send a text to Diet.com and you can get nutritional information for foods at restaurants nationwide. To do it, you sent a text to DIET1 (34381) with the name of the restaurant, the menu item and the size. In seconds, you'll get back the calories, fat, carbs and protein. While not all restaurants are included, you'll find the most common places included in the database. What a great idea!
  • Compare Two Foods. This excellent tool, created by Suzanne over at FitWatch allows you to compare two different foods to find out which one is more nutritious. This is particularly useful when you have a craving for something sweet - just compare a Snickers bar to an apple and that might be enough to steer you in the right direction.
  • Bones in Motion. This software turns your cell phone into a fitness tracker. Though the software only works with certain carriers, take your phone with you on your walk, run or biking excursion and the software tracks your distance, speed, route and calories burned. It saves your information and you can view it all online. It's $9.99 a month, but a great idea for outdoor enthusiasts who don't want to spring for more expensive GPS units.

Hello,

I’m currently researching various weight loss programs and courses.

So, if you don’t mind please answer in this topic: What’s your single most important question about weight loss?

Cheers, JD
