Workouts for Stress Relief
People who exercise, however, know how much a good workout can ease stress and release tension. I have one client who runs up and down the stairs at work whenever her boss says something stupid (she's become very adept at stairclimbing). I have another client who goes to kickboxing class and makes a mental list of all her worries. Each worry gets a kick or a punch and, by the end of class, she feels calm and ready to face the rest of her life.
If you haven't tried exercise as a tool for stress relief, today is a great day to start. My latest article, Workouts for Stress Relief offers specific ideas for how you can use exercise to your advantage. Whether you're into running, yoga or nothing at all, you'll find something here to get you moving.

I view every time I exercise as yet another opportunity to kick the Grim Reaper’s ass. Make no mistake that your health is the most important thing in your life. Then comes family. Lastly comes what you do to make your life possible – that 4-letter word called work. Everything else is small stuff, so why stress about it? Let go of all that baggage and start being a happier person.

I should work out more often but I feel just by getting off my duff and moving, I am working out. I don’t get stressed often but when I do I talk it out or write about it.
I can imagine that kickboxing would be a good stress reliever. I enjoy Taekwondo sparring. You need to be totally focused and it wears you out, you don’t have the energy to care about stress afterwards.
