Our Documentaries Guide, Jennifer, just posted her review of one of the latest exposes of the food industry, Food, Inc.
This documentary is all about how food is produced and distributed in the US, and, as Jennifer puts it, "After you see this film--and it is essential that you do--you will never again approach nutrition in the same way."
From what Jennifer says, getting the inside scoop on what really happens to our food before it hits the grocery store or restaurant may make you want to plant your own garden and never eat out again.
Have you seen Food Inc. or do you plan on seeing it? Leave a comment and tell us what you think.

I am considering this show. I have a lot of books on the subject so I am very familiar. Of course some of the scenes will be very hard for me but I am almost a complete vegetarian now so I don’t think it will change my eating habits to much if I see it.
Hey catluver, if you’re worried about the food industry, why not try nutritional suplements? I do and you can replace plenty of meals with those and not feel hungry.

Oh I will see this one. Learning about food and nutrition and how to cook is 1/2 the battle. Knowing I am eating well means I have more and better energy for my workouts. To steal a quote from the book “Skinny Bitch” – “If you want to lose weight stop putting crap in your mouth!” no offense intended !
I was a Dietetics Major in College mid 80s & learned plenty about how food is stored, produced, raised, slaughter, unmentionables that are mixed in for no extra cost…you name it, it’s in there. It will make you ill and you will probably never eat some of your favorites ever again. It’s disgusting. No I won’t watch, I already had my fill of all of it!!!!
Yep, we drove into LA on the day it opened. Powerful movie, but I’m afraid it’s “preaching to the choir”. Those of us who care enough to see the film are already pretty savvy on the issues. I wish it could be shown to every high school freshman across the country. We are killing ourselves with high fructose corn syrup, hormones in our meat and high fat diets. What is happening to our society when my diet of simple real food is the “whacky” one?
Who Cares!!!!!!
