In honor of Halloween, I asked my clients to list the scariest exercises I've ever made them do. I actually ran out of paper at one point, since most of them wanted to list every exercise I've ever made them do. I just love their sense of drama.
The exercises they chose all have one thing in common: They are all compound exercises that require multiple muscles, multiple movements and multiple planes of motion.
- Burpees
- Bear Crawls
- Squat, Curl and Press
- Squats with a Rotating Press
- 360 Plank
- Pushup, Plank and Row
- Walking Lunge with and Overhead Press
- Pushups with Side Planks
- Pull Ups
- Plyo Lunges
If you want a truly scary workout, and one guaranteed to burn off that Halloween candy, try these exercises in a workout: Warm up for at least 5 minutes, then do each exercise for 30-60 seconds with no rest in between. Repeat, if you dare.
