Guide Review - SportBrain iStep X1

Pedometers are a dime-a-dozen these days, which is why I was so impressed with the SportBrain. Like most pedometers, it tracks steps taken, calories burned and/or distance traveled. What makes the SportBrain different is the USB interface. Simply plug your SportBrain into your computer, download the iSync software and you'll be taken right to your very own online fitness portfolio. Your personal page includes steps for the day as well as a summary of total miles, running miles, calories burned, cheesburgers/bananas burned, steps taken, goal steps and % of your goal you achieved. The goal steps are automatically set to 10,000 and a little heart icon will turn red when you reach that goal. What's even better is the Sportfolio which shows a chart of your daily speed throughout the day with the ability to see how fast you were going at any given time. If you were involved in what they call a 'Sportivity' (or a walk/run lasting more than 10 minutes), you'll get a chart detailing distance, steps, duration, speed, running pace and calories. At the bottom of the page is your total steps to date. Perhaps one of my favorite things is that you don't have to connect every day. The SportBrain will keep your data stored (provided you don't reset it) and separate it into the appropriate time frame whenever you hook up and log in. I highly recommend the SportBrain if you want a little more motivation to get in your steps. A+!
