Definition: In exercise and fitness, we often talk about connective tissue and how to keep it strong and flexible. As one of the most important connective tissues in the body, tendons are tough, fibrous bands that connect muscles to bones. Tendons help support and protect the body while also transferring force from the muscles to the bones.
