The Weight Loss or Exercise Fad I Tried
When I was a lot younger I thought those giggle machines (i.e., vibrating machines) that you see on infomercials would do the trick. That's why I wanted to join a gym. But the gym didn't even have one of those machines. That was my introduction to the world of fitness clubs and working out.
Other than the jiggle machine misunderstanding I never really fell for the extreme fads, but I did spend a lot of time bouncing back and forth between hi-protein, low carb, lower carbs, no sugar, fasting, the Zone, mindful eating, vegetarian, vegan, choosing a way of eating for spiritual reasons vs physical results.
What Happened After I Tried It
With the giggle incident, as I mentioned I learned that you have to work it off. With diets, I learned a lot of isolated facts, and also a few ideas on diet systems. I also at times got really overwhelmed trying to figure out which diet to follow. This is especially true when it comes to vegan vs vegetarian vs low carb / high protein. The high protein helps build muscle and lose fat, but the vegetarian and vegan diets are non-harming, which makes me feel better.
